Unplug golf Cart and Charger
Bring all items outside (tables, chairs, wall hangings, statuary) inside. Hurricanes turn them into missiles.
Turn outside water lever to off. If there is leakage around valve, nothing is really off. Turn off valve at cold water intake on Water Heater. After turning off, check faucet to see if there is any flow.

If Refrigerator is empty, unplug, dry and prop all doors open. If not empty, have neighbor check weekly. Leave key with a trusted neighbor.
Pour a bucket of fresh water into Dishwasher. Leave door cracked open
Unplug all small appliances.
Don’t Run any fans.
Check locks on all windows and close all window blinds or shades. Extra screw locks are suggested.
Unplug TVs and Computer and remove cable connection. Most lightning strikes come through the cable connection.
If you have a humidistat installed, set to 70 %. Set thermostat fan switch to “auto”. Set the system switch to “cool” and thermostat to 60. If you do not have a Humidistat, set the thermostat to 85. Leave breaker on for the Air Conditioning. Remember the lower you set the temperature, the higher the electric bill.
Inform Security that you home will be vacant until….and leave emergency number or neighbors number who has a key to your home and key to any vehicle left behind so they can be moved in case of street repair. Security Number (813) 634-2063

Double lock all doors. Use dead rod or burglar bar in sliding doors.
Take out garbage and trash.
